What is PSG? Why join PSG? The number one reason to join the Parent Support Group is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school. But there are many more PSG advantages:
- Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.
- Tap into a Network. PSG functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You an share ideas, concerns, and experiences.
- Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PSG, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community.
- Speak Up. PSG can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.
- Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PSGs play an important role in fundraising to provide building curriculum-based programs, and social events.
- Be a Role Model. By becoming a PSG member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
Our goal this year is to raise $10,000. This money is used to fund:
- Yearly Scholarships to Attend MDS
- MDS Social Events
- Other Enrichment Programs
Many people ask for an estimate of how much money they should strive to donate. Of course, ANY donation is really appreciated and will be put to good use. MDS typically has approximately 62 children in the school, so a per child approximation would roughly equal $300. This money can spent over the course of the year, whether it is through shopping at local stores or Amazon and linking your accounts to MDS, or purchasing holiday gifts at the Spring Fling Silent Auction, or purchasing pizza in our pizza lunch fundraiser. If we have a great team approach, we will reach our goal relatively effortlessly, securing the school’s resources we have come to rely on.
